Hi also look at post #47 Sky are breaking their terms and Conditions.
The Connect Package Terms and Conditions
SKY BROADBAND CONNECT NETWORK MANAGEMENT POLICY

Sky Broadband Connect is subject to a Network Management Policy in addition to the monthly Usage Cap.

We continuously monitor and efficiently manage the performance of Sky Broadband Connect to ensure that we provide a sustainable quality broadband service to our customers. When our network is busy we give priority to applications such as browsing, email, streaming, instant messaging, gaming and VOIP.

This means that certain applications which use up a lot of bandwidth (for example peer-to-peer file-sharing, large file downloads and newsgroups), which have a negative effect on other customers, may run slower at peak times. Our network is busiest between 4pm and 11pm on weekdays and all day at the weekend, but can be busy at other times too, depending on regional, national and international demand.

In addition, we monitor customers who use the most bandwidth and whose usage is having a negative effect on other customers. Customers who breach the Usage Cap or who regularly download large amounts at peak times will have restrictions placed on their accounts to reduce their download speeds at peak times. Only a small number of customers will be affected by this, typically fewer than 5%. We remove these restrictions when our network is not busy. Sky do not as you have seen with your speed tests.

Right, will ring them and request a MAC code tomorrow.

Is this the correct number for Sky: 0844 2410515

EDIT: And if I cancel my contract with Sky will I have to sign up for Sky TV all over again?

Hi that is the right telephone number. Your dad is only cancelling the broadband and telephone. If you have telephone with Sky. You can still keep the TV package.

      Re: What is this rubbish?

      Okay,

So today I just ring them and ask for a MAC code.

They then send me the MAC code and then I ring them and saying they are illegaly throlling my connection at peak times and are providing an unacceptable service that is in breach of the T&C's and ask them to cancel the contract without any fee's.

And then once they agree to that I give my MAC code to TalkTalk.

      Right?

Not in a criminal sense, but it is as far as trading standards are concerned. They have promised a service they are not delivering.

      Re: What is this rubbish?

Just called Sky and they're ringing me back. Basically the woman said we are downloading too much and so there was a restriction placed one our account. She's ringing back once she finds out how long it lasts.

      Another load of bull?

Will request MAC code when she rings back btw.

      Re: What is this rubbish?

Sky on phone with me now, they saying they are providing 5mb/s. :|

When she got me to do SpeedTest and it came up as 17kb/s she was surprised She thought it might have been because I was doing it on Firefox, ran the test on IE and it came up as 8kb/s lol. Will hear her out and then ask for a MAC code.
