    Sky broadband, why so long?

      Sky broadband, why so long?

      Basically i signed up before the end of last month, got told we have an active line and they installed the dish and we have sky now.

      Got a letter stating the net won't be activated until Monday, just wandering why it takes so long?

      They have to send someone up to the exchange to connect your line up to Sky's broadband kit. As you may have guessed because of this they cant do it instantly but the times it takes arent usually too long.

      My broadband order is taking the full 15 days to be activated which is annoying. Know somebody else local order broadband a week after me and get the same activation date.

      Are you also taking Sky line rental, this can cause the delay due to your phone needing to be transfered off the BT network and onto the SVBN.

      They're probably sending the same guy to the exchange to do both orders, not uncommon.

      No doubt. Busy exchange too, thought they could have sorted something quicker but ah well. 6 more days of BT throttling to go.

      unfortunately they have to rely on Openreach for exchange work and with it being school holiday/ holiday season sometimes there are delays in getting people to the exchange.
