It'll say o2-uk because it's from an iPhone - that's just the place where the network is shown on the GUI.

      Run the following:

      Test Result

Enter your telephone number and click go. The username it will ask for you is your lan MAC address (found on the bottom of the router) with '@skydsl' on the end. i.e. 002F9234G@skydsl

      Paste in all the results.

So it is wireless as well. That makes it even worse. You would probably do a bit better with an ethernet connection.

If the number of exchanges Sky say they are going to upgrade in the next 3 months is true, they are going to be very busy.

Extremely slow connection evening time - 0.02mb/s speed test

I tried loading the speed test website a number of times, and failed. I am resorting to posting on my iPhone with 3g now, the broadband is unusable.

What do you recommend me to do? I really want to be upgraded to the 20mb/s line in a few months, but I can't stay with sky if they continually throttle to worse than dial-up.

Your on SKY connect which is throttled as has already been stated. They may do the upgrade in 3 months and put the LLU kit into your exchange but then again there is no guarantee. Your best bet is to run your post code through the samknows checker and check for LLU services from your exchange.

Extremely slow connection evening time - 0.02mb/s speed test

I put my details into samknows and it said that TalkTalk offers LLU on my exchange, but can still only offer 8.1mb/s. Does that mean when sky enable LLU on my exchange they will only offer 8mb/s speeds?

Do sky offer another package where they don't throttle? I don't mind paying more if I get a decent service.

Re: Extremely slow connection evening time - 0.02mb/s speed test

I think you will find that TT actually offer up to 24Mb. When they first started they only offered 8 Mb and charged extra for what they called a 'speed booster' up to 16Mb. Now I think all their packages offer the full speed.-
Broadband and phone for just 6.99 with TalkTalk

When your exchange is upgraded, Sky will offer 20 Mb, the same as they do at all their enabled exchanges.

It is up to you whether you get out now or wait and see if they keep their word. I would try to get a discount out of them if you decide to stay, 17 is disgraceful for the service you are getting.
