      That's one hell of a long line there, you are lucky o get ADSL at all.

      My appologies to the Sky staff who took the OP's call, you may very well have been right

      One last thing you could do, post your stats from the TEST socket this will be the very best senario for your connection and may show some improvement.

      You have a very long line. You could ask sky to try your line on ADSL1(G.DMT), you may get an improvement but with a line of that length its unlikely.

      Now try the TEST socket as requested.

      All you can do is ask Sky to try your line on G.DMT or move house.

      if i got a wireless adapter for my old pc would it help me download at 900 kbs which it says i have and not stop at 100 kbs through the lan connection

      You are mixing up bits and bytes I think. A sync speed of 900kilobits per second will allow you to download at about 100kilobytes per second.

      sky say i have 1 mb/sec speed , i download at 0.10 mb/sec a tenth of what i should get

      only ten months to go then sky can kiss my custom goodbye, they dont tell you what speed u will get before u sign up, Sky Backward Broadband and that stupid frog in their advert for 20 mb speed can crawl back under the slimey stone they crawled out of

      Can you do a speed test here - Sky User - Broadband Speed Tester and post what it returns.

      As someone has mentioned a few of years ago you would not have broadband at all on that length of line. Some ISPs would not accept you, even now,
