    Still not received the router

      Still not received the router

      Hi all,

      I have bought a sky broadband unlimited a little ago. My activation date was the 4th of August and I received a mail in which they said that the package with the router was sent on the 28th of July and that it would have been arrived in 3-5 days. As of now it has not arrived. What am I supposed to do? I'm even already paying for the service I can't use!! Yesterday I sent sky a message telling them my situation but I didn't receive any answer what should I do??

      Phone them and make sure your order hasn't been delayed. If the order was completed then ask them to send you a replacement router package.

      I phoned this morning. The operator said that according to their records it had arrived, however they will send another one which will (should?) arrive in 2 working days. I just hope that this time arrives.

      They left mine on the doorstep without even knocking my door. Well either that or I slept thru them knocking.lol.. Either way, there was no letter placed thru the door and I only knew it was there when a friend called around late at night and handed it to me, so this had been there all day. If you live on a main road it might have been nicked.

      Check your local sorting office. When the system shows the router as delivered, its usually been sent there if you weren't around when they tried to deliver it.

      If you call customer services, ask them for the order tracking number so you can check.

      There is however currently a bit of a delay with router deliveries, not too sure of the cause.

      Finally. I got it today!
      It does not have the microfilters or the ethernet cable, but it worked by plugging in the phone wire.

      That looks like a refurb. If you have anything connected to the phone line it must be connected through a filter. This includes the Sky box.

      What make is the router?

      It's white netgear.

      I know about the microfilters, in fact now I can't use the phone . Will buy one ina few days.

      Call sky BB tech support and tell them you only recieved the router, phone and power cables. They will send you an ethernet cable and microfilters.

      It's white netgear.
      Then it is definitely a refurb. It will be OK provided it is not still faulty, in my opinion they are better than the Version 2 routers. What firmware does it have, it should be V1.03.87. I would recommend updating it with James' excellent firmware, which allows a lot of tweaks. Get it here-
