      dir 655 setup

      how do i properly setup the dg834gt sky modem with the dlink dir 655?

      want to be able to use the dir 655's n wireless speed and gigabit ethernet

      any help would be great, been trying to get working all day

      Basically, Change the IP address of the Dlink to the same range as the Netgear, say 192.168.0.254. and switch off its DHCP server.

      Then connect the routers with an ethernet cable between 2 ethernet ports, not the Dlink WAN port. It is sometimes necessary to switch off the wireless in the Netgear to avoid interference. You can refine this but this should get it working.

      thanks for the advice, think i now have it working properly!
      what are the best tools to check what wireless and ethernet speed i'm getting (i'm on a mac)

      Check you are using the best wireless channel by using Inssider from the link below, for Windows, or KisMac for Mac.
      kismacng Download link at the bottom of the page.

      Discover the channels in use and set your router channel to one as far from those in use as possible. Channels 1 to 13 are available,
