I'm switching, I called Sky and I have until Monday to change my mind (out of contract).

Therefore, from what I can see these are my options:
TalkTalk 26.48/m + Free Wireless N Router [plus 3.48/m compared to Sky]
Plusnet 34.95/m + Free Wireless G Router [plus 11.95/m compared to Sky]
Idnet 53.45/m (Ouch) best ISP in the UK for AdslMax but I would have to buy a router also! [plus 30.45/m compared to Sky]

I want to take calls and broadband with a provider (including line rental).

My next best seems to try TalkTalk but I have heard horror stories...

Here is a link to info on my exchange: SamKnows - Broadband Availability - Clay Cross (SLCX) Exchange

I did call Orange before and they said even though it is LLU my exchange doesn't support ADSL 2 yet so max speed is 8mb.

As far as I know, TalkTalk have their gear in my exchange and use it to talk to their main hub so I'm not sure if it's fully LLU but what I do know is the max is 8mb.

I don't know if TalkTalk are any good. I have had 2 family members say they are annoying but nothing on speed etc.

Hi CPW TalkTalk is fully unbundled the link SamKnows - TalkTalk LLU Just scroll down and you will see that your exchange has CPW TalkTalk LLU If an ISP has their own equipment in the exchange you use there equipment not Bt`s I think Orange were going to put you on there Bt re-badged product. Ask TalkTalk if you would be going on LLU

Re: Taken connect, talk anytime and line rental... not really happy

I took out talktalk and I'm going to give them a go. They confirmed I would be moved to LLU and the speed they estimate I will get is 5.6mb. As I am on LLU and went with the plus package APPARENTLY they will never throttle bittorrent or anything like that.

They also said I would get a D-Link Wireless N router for free and free connection. Sounds good but let's see.

Still seems no one in my exchange offers over 8mb, I guess it's because it isn't 21CN only 20CN.

      Thanks for all the help.

All LLU providers should be offering over 8mb, upto 24mb depending on the line lenght etc. Double and triple check you can get TalkTalk LLU.
