Whether you are a new customer or not you get throttled due to bandwidth congestion on Connect, until Sky either buy a hell of a lot more bandwidth from BT or LLU your exchange you will get a very poor peak time experience on your package. Ask for your MAC and leave or put up with it for as long as it takes them to upgrade your exchange, those are your only choices really.

Hi you will be able to monitor your exchange. Then you will see when Sky LLU move into the exchange.

      I shouldn't be throttled as I'm a new customer.
I have had speeds as low as 1kbps over the last couple of yrs

TalkTalk seems to be the next cheapest. Apparently they have LLU equipment but ADSL2 isn't enabled on the exchange. Should I give them a shot as I only hear bad things about them.

Hi with TalkTalk you have to take the phone as well. There are plenty of offers from various ISPs

When sky published their results in the last couple of weeks didn't it say that the LLU network had been "completed", I assume that all exchange upgrades are now on hold with that kind of statement.

If that is the case the last day of my "8-day trial" is up tomorrow so I'll be calling for a mac.

I would advise you use Plusnet if you cannot get any other LLU suppliers in your exchange.
One if a customer wants to cancel within contract period they will have to pay the remainder off the contract for that full year. Cancellations wont take no for an answer. Trust me! Don't use plus-net they are useless. If you really don't want the sky connection and if cable is in the area go for that. Plus the contract that Sky have with BT is unchangeable in-regards to speeds during peak-times as Steve as already stated.

That is complete and utter rubbish, many, many people have left Sky Connect without any sort of penalty because Sky know that it is way over capacity, not fit for purpose and breaches their own terms and conditions.

Again, you are spouting garbage, Plusnet (who are owned by BT btw) have one of the best managed networks in the country using the BT network.

No it's not, Sky could quite easily add more capacity for their customers but they won't as it will cost too much to do so, this is not BT's doing, they will happily take Sky's money, Skys problem is they won't pay for it and cannot get it for free.

The bottom line is that not only won't Sky add more capacity, they won't manage their network properly and stop people on it from downloading the internet, until they do this then it will only get worse as more and more customers are crammed into the already over capacity network.

If you really work for Sky and have done so for over four years, I pity the customers you are meant to be helping if this is anything to go by

Hi If you work for Sky then you will know all about the Connect package. There has been Hundreds on this Forum that have left in contract as the package at times is unusable. Also breaches Sky own terms and conditions. Plus being sold as Sky Max. Not being told that it is really a Bt re-badged Max product. That is Traffic Managed by Sky not Bt. Smithy99 knows all about the issues with the connect package. About Plusnet
