      More Connect problems

      BB Package= Connect
      Speed Normal= 7mb
      Current throttled speed= 72kbps (download) , 365kbps (upload)
Average ussage per day= a lot
What does this throttling affect= Browsing/live streaming

I have been with sky since october 2007 using there Broardband connect and have never had this problem before.

Now i have very slow speeds so slow that it takes so long to get even my home page to load, i have been having this problem for about 17 days now, i have been watching Big Brother live streaming for 2 weeks now only because its the last series, and have been on the phone to sky 5 different times now wanting to know why my speed is so slow and they are telling me its BT have capped my usage at busy times and there is nothing they can do about it as my local exchange will not support any other speed internet connection, does any body know how true this is please, as i am paying 17 per month and not getting a good service surely my problem is with sky and not BT.

      Re: More Connect problems

Yes your problem is with Sky, Sky's problem is that they won't pay any more money to BT to buy the extra capacity that they desperately need for the Sky Connect package.

The only option is to switch providers, if you cannot get any other LLU suppliers in your exchange then I would recommend Plusnet, they currently have a few good offers on and have a much, much better managed network that Sky's Connect.

Hi I see that you do not have any LLU at your exchange. As Smithy says the Connect package is having lots of issues. The biggest not enough capacity also from 5pm till Midnight the connect package is traffic Managed, So anything but browsing is no good. The Sky Agent should have told you the reason why you were having issues. here`s a couple of links you might find interesting (Unofficial) FAQ - Sky Connect Users also Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

That is only half correct. BT do the throttling but only because Sky will not pay them for sufficient bandwidth.
