      What a good catch that was User05, I would have had his floorboards up by now looking for the master

      And people say it costs £100's to get faults sorted!!!

      No way is he going to get 16mbps sync with that snr.

      I don't think I have access to the master socket here, since I'm in a block of flats with only one phone line socket.
      Unfortunately this is often the case with flats, the actual master socket is probably in a service cupboard somewhere in your building. If you only have one socket in the flat there is not much you can do. Have a look in the socket, if there is wire connected to Terminal 3, pull it off and insulate the end of it if any bare wire shows. This is the ring wire and is not required when using filters.
      Apart from that, unless you get a complete failure the owners or BTO are unlikely to do anything about it.
