      Being severely throttled...

      I'm using Sky Connect.

      Sagem router stats;
      Modem
      ADSL Firmware Version A2pB023o.d20h
      Modem Status Up
      DownStream Connection Speed 8128
      UpStream Connection Speed 448
      VPI 0
      VCI 38

      _________

      In the day time my speeds are fine, usually able to download at around the 800kb/s mark. Occasionally i'll do some downloading and and will end up going over the 1.3GB mark but not very often. When it comes to around 5pm until about 11.15pm I'm getting severely throttled, to a point when I can't open a single website. Occasionally it's ok and I can open sites (but pretty much do nothing else) but it seems to becoming more frequent when I can't do anything.

      Can I do anything do help get better speeds? If not can I use this as an excuse to break the contract? Have been looking at the Home Broadband < PlusNet | Home Broadband Internet Packages UK (any thoughts on this would also be helpful).

      Thanks,
      Chris

      If you have a look through this thread -
      (Unofficial) FAQ - Sky Connect Users
      you will see that many have left the Connect package without penalty, due to excessive throttling. If you have no LLU suppliers on your exchange then Plusnet is probably a good bet.
