      Conned into Sky Connect

      About two months ago we phoned Sky to inquire about the best Sky Package they could offer us. We specifically asked that any package would be Unlimited and we would not be throttled at any time due to the connection mainly being used for online gaming. We were told all this would be fine and we swapped to Sky.

      For the first 2 weeks everything seemed fine and were impressed with the service but then during peak times we were starting to get awful speeds and even general web browsing has became very slow and video streaming is impossible.
      According the Term and Conditions the reasons for this happening are Usage Cap, which can’t be our problem as we should be on Unlimited and our Service Details says there is no usage on record, Excessive use during peak time, which again it can’t be as with the poor speeds it is impossible to do anything or due to Traffic management, I fear this is the reason for the slow speeds but it shouldn’t be as we asked for a package with no throttling. It also says that “There are no restrictions in place for applications such as browsing, email, streaming, instant messaging and VOIP during peak times” and this is just not the case with us. Ultimately this makes no sense as we asked to not be put on something like this, our speeds were fine during the first few weeks and now during peak times it is almost impossible to do anything online. And now we’re seemly stuck with this crap for 12 months.

      We did send a letter questioning what was going and all we had back was some rubbish basically quoting the Terms and conditions for Excessive use during peak times.

      So basically I really need some help with what we should do to sort this out, be it getting faster speeds or being able to leave Sky. Who to Phone/White/E-mail without getting a load of crap sent back and if there really is nothing that can be done maybe some kind of way to lower the price as we're not getting hat we're paying for.

      If your were told you could get unlimited and have been provided with Connect which is a resold BT product (and generally considered awful) then you have been misold, have you any paperwork saying you are on the unlimited package?
      Connect is £17/month and has a 40 Gb cap.
      Check if your exchange has Sky LLU by doing an exchnage search on Samknows.
