Help installing Sky Broadband after complete XP reinstall

Hi all!, need your help, have had sky for over a year now and I have no complaints whatsoever. Last night I did a complete reinstall of Windows XP with service pack 2.

I have the Sky Sagem router that was previously set up wirelessy through an Edimax USB Dongle which was great! When I now plug in the dongle to reset the broadband nothing happens, nothing at all, my PC recognises that theres a USB device plugged in (it does come up with the name of the dongle so it does recognise it) but when it asks for the software for it, it finds nothing! Should it not automatically install as it came with no disc and installed fine before or is it because I've not reconnected my router using the ethernet cable?

Will I be able to reconnect using the cable as I remember when talking to sky about going wireless they said that after 30 days I would have to anyway as they would stop the wired connection! If this is true then I am stumped as how am I supposed to do an initial wired set up?

      Cheers in advance

Sounds like a driver issue, you'll need to get the drivers from the website of the dongle to get Windows to use it

Try here and see if you can find it:

I'm not understanding why you think the wired connection would stop after 30 days? Your router is enabled for both ethernet and wireless and you can connect with either at any time.

nice one! have got the driver and will try doing it when I go home at dinner. Yea, Sky told me that my wireless connection had to be established within 30 days as they would stop my wired connection! I thought it was strange when the fella told me aswell? It just doesn't make sense!

      Cheers again
