      Intermittent connection.....every 4 minutes

Since sunday afternoon the 4th light down has been going from solid green to flashing amber to off to flashing amber to solid green. Called sky last night and they checked their system and there comments were "oh thats odds, its following a pattern and doing it every 4 minutes". They couldn't check the BT line as some sort of system was down but will check it today and call me later. If thats ok they are saying the only other thing it would be is the router which they would replace (although charge me 28 for the privilege). Anyone had this sort of thing in the past and any idea as to what the most likely solution was???

      Usually one of three things.

      1. Set-up (if you've confirmed that it drops out with a swapped filter directly into the test socket with just the router and the short grey dsl cable sky supplied, then it will not be internal wiring or set-up).

      2. Router

      3. Line fault

Openreach portal where sky run line tests and log faults was down last night, but it was meant to be back up this morning, so call them back up and they'll see where to go from there. Also, is there any noise on the landline?
