      Slow Connection after 3 routers

      Hi
I am having trouble getting a reasonable speed out of a sky broad band connection. its like browsing using an analogue Modem a simple text page takes 2 minutes.

      additional info
Sky claim everything on the connection is ok.
The router successfully connects and reports a good connection rate. Checking line noise with sky technicians etc. claim it is all within normal limits.

The machine works ok on another connection.(Desktop connect by ethernet)

A Laptop connects OK to to wireless but exhibited the same slow internet browsing. Connect to a different access point on another broadband connection browsers fine.

Sky have sent out 2 routers and still the same.
The connection was working Ok until they upgraded the package . (We did not ask for the upgrade)

Any Ideas for a strategy to resolve this with sky

Can you post up your router stats and results you get from the speed test on this site?

Right, from the sounds of it you may have a line fault which is causing a lot of errors and forcing the thoroughput down. Can you try your router in the test socket and see if the problems repeat? If they dont then you have internal wiring problems which fitting a filtered faceplate and running the router from will aleviate. I presume that you have tried changing the filters?
If you have the problems even in the test socket then get back onto sky and get it logged as a line fault for BT Openreach to investigate.

Could be the DSLAM (the BB equipment in the exchange) - have seen cases before where the port wasn't correctly configured/faulty and caused a massive bottleneck. Either way they've gotta start looking exchange end and not with anything your end
