      Re: New deal

I believe the procedure was simply to add sky broadband unlimited again onto your basket and that'll do it. I do however agree with the previous post and that the best way of doing it is to call them up (why is everyone so terrified of phoning these days anyway? they dont bite )

I did this, and all is fine - APART from the muppets putting DLM back on and dropping my speed - Now sorted with a phonecall though..

I have tried doing this as well and would definitely advice you to do it the traditional way. You are better off calling customer service to help you out.

      Re: New deal

We just had our Sky box upgraded to the HD box so that we could record two channels at the same time. After it was installed we called Sky and asked if we could also renew our contract and get our unlimited broadband for 7.50. Sky sorted it out no problem

      So yea.. Just ring'em up.

I recently changed my Sky package as well from the 10 to the 7.50 and yes the muppets put DLM back on my line. My speeds were not great to start with: 3268 down/768 up, 7.2db/8.6db (for 3yrs). I contacted tech support and they said they would get it back to what it was within a couple of days. I waited 3 days and my speeds were still the same 2520/512. I contacted tech support again and they managed to get it up has high as 2720/640 and they said that that is as high as my line can manage, I argued till I was blue in the face about the speeds I had been getting for the past 3yrs and he said I should not have been getting that. He did a line check and said my line only supports 1.5/512 and I was lucky to be getting 2720/640. I was getting nowhere so I ended the call telling him how unhappy I was with the service whilst still trying to be pleasant. So why on gods earth does just changing my payment package result in a drop in speed.
      Rant over.

It would be helpful if you made a new thread and posted up your stats, we can then advise you as to whether there is any more speed to be had from them.

LOL @ Muppets - think you'll find you're the muppets for not realising an upgrade causes DLM to be run again (as mentioned here a fair few times). Still, as said, sorted now...

Yes I do realise an upgrade causes DLM to be run again, but as far as I am concerned, moving from paying 10 to 7.50 for exactly the same service, does not constitute an upgrade, just a saving of 2.50 p/m. What I was expecting was a decrease in my mthly payments and a longer contract period, nothing else.
As for my stats: 2720Kb/9.7db down, 640Kb/13db up.
