      Slow and drops connection!!

      Hi.

      We have had Sky for 2 months. Are internet has been running at 16kbs.

      Now Sky say we have a 512kbs line but the router says 1987kbs line. The internet is slow and drops the line alot. Its a joke TBH.

      Need some help!!

      More than likely a set-up/wiring issue.

      How many telephone sockets do you use in the house?
      Does every telephone socket in use have a filter connected directly into the socket?
      Do you have sky tv plugged in somewhere?
      Is the router plugged into the master socket?
      Are you using an extension cable to the router?

      Ok.

      We have about 4 in are front room. I have tryed every single one and they are all the same. We have Sky TV and the router is about 3metres away from the box. I have the router and the phone connected together with the filter on. I have tryed it other ways to with each one on seprate lines with filters.

      What about router settings?.

      I have it on channel 11 which i find the best. Today it was downloading at 140kbs later on in the day they internet was off and when it did connect it only downloaded at 16kbs.

      SKY connect is throttled at peak hours that's probably why your getting the slow speeds. Would you please find your test socket and try the router in that to see if it's more stable.

      Its all hrs TBH. I will try it in the master socket tomorrow.

      They did say the connect package is slow but they even said it shouldnt be as slow as it is.

      sorry for hijacking your thread Simon,but evertime i've brought this up when i phone them up they say they dont do this ie last bloody Friday.
      used the router tool in another thread and have these stats;
      Sagem F@ST 2504 [Sky Firmware]

      If your not on sky connect then you dont get throttled, your profile says your on mid/everyday.

      Hi this thread is about Sky connect which is a Bt re-badged product you are on Sky LLU which is completely different product if you start a thread you will be able to get information and help concerning your Broadband issues

      Hi you beat me to it. But looks like you are right if PLuKE does a Bt test Bt Updated Speed Tester it should show how bad the connection is
