Please Help! Network set up problem!

      Hi guys,

When I first installed my sky broadband I connected it through my dsl line, to the sagem sky wireless router into the back of my desktop PC via ethernet cable. I then was allowed to use wireless devices to connect to my router.

However I am deciding to get rid of my desktop PC and my question is: Is it possibly for the router to act on its own in distributing internet to wireless devices? I have no idea on how to do this or if its possibly but if it is a method would be appreciated.

When I unplugg the router from the PC my internet goes? And this does not allow me to access the internet via my wireless devices such as laptop etc.

      Please help.

      Thank you

The router connects to the internet and then distributes it throughout its wireless and the network ports. If you lose internet access on your other devices when you unplug your PC from the router then your configuration is wrong.

It is configured *by default* to distribute the internet throughout it's wireless and ports. Unless you've done something and set up internet connection sharing on the pc and then connected the other devices through the PC it'll just work.

The only thing i done was follow the sky cd instructions which told me to connect the router/wireless to the PC. So if i unplugg the router from my PC it should still distribute internet? Otherwise its something configure onto my PC possibly my network card adapater software?

If everything is connected to the router and not the pc then yes it should just work.
