Re: fine in the day doesnt work at night

received the new router on saturday

plugged it into the master socket and in the morning everything was fine come 5pm saturday had trouble loading web pages at all

tried the connection again this morning and it was fine up till 3pm then it was really bad

phoned sky at 5pm got put through to another department and while i was on the phone he did something to the router twice

each time router came back on my browsing was fine

heres my stats after its working fine again

      WAN PPPoA 48812 84329 0 3709 7301 0:22:30
      LAN 3058285 3062567 0 0 0 1:14:51
      WLAN 125384 79156 0 8005 3989 1:14:26
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 4928 kbps 800 kbps
Line Attenuation 42.0 db 25.0 db
Noise Margin 12.3 db 15.0 db

not sure what they do to the line but now i am back to proper browsing speed can see my downstream has gone down a bit but not fussed as long as i can browse properly

Looke like your attenuation has gone down, could be they fixed a fault on there end which was causing it, keep an eye on that number and see if it stays constant at 42

Could be wrong but I think they have put you on G.DMT. That would account for the decreased attenuation and the dead 800kbps upload. If your line stays stable call them and ask them to lift the cap a bit. You should get another 1+Mb out of it if it stays stable.
