Renewed Sky Contract, worst its been since we subscribed

Hi, we recently received a letter telling us that if we renewed our contract for another year with sky BB we would get it slightly cheaper. Since we where planning on doing so anyway why not save a couple of quid eh?

So we renewed and everything was fine and dandy til about 3 days after we had confirmed the renewal. the internat has been completely whacky since then. It started out being a bit slow then the internet kept going off (only to be revived by multiple router cycles) and now we have huge ping too. The last year we have had sky the service has been a little shakey going off from time to time but never any connection problems.

As i spend most of my free time playing online games i like to keep a ping under 80Ms or at least under 100 but today's results as the closest servers brings bad news:

Earlier it was hitting about 600Ms anyway i hope someone can help or offer some insight to what is going on stats etc included below. It may also be worth mentioning that page load times have significantly increased, even with google.

      From router page:

I don't see any issues here but i don't really know what im lucking for, afaik the noise margin isn't an issue unless its below 6.5ish so its not that.

You should have been advised that changing your account in any way triggers a DLM training session. As you probably knows this means your line is reset and trained over a period of about 10 days, during which time you are advised to keep your router plugged in and powered up at all times. The fact that you have been rebooting your router has signalled a fault to the DLM which has reduced your speed accordingly. You will have to phone Sky who will either restart DLM or preferably, set your line manually and suspend DLM.

Ok thanks for your reply, which was awesomely fast :P is it worth ringing them or waiting it out?

downloaded TCPoptimizer thingy and restarted and now :

      now what lol?

EDIT: is it worth calling to ask for max delays to be reduced? would that take my ping down even further?

      thanks

I would say ring them now, if you get the right guys you will be fixed in minutes. While you are on ask them to reduce your Max delay to improve the ping times for your gaming.

sorry to keep bothering you but i never thought to ask, is there any service number better than another to call? this is certainly true with our old SP Tiscali.

No you can only call the one number. Some manage to get through using 150 if they have Sky Phone Rental, I don't have, so can't say for sure.
