      Internet and phone keeps going dead

      Hi guys

      My internet and phone keeps going dead, it always happens at about 2 in the morning, my phone goes off completely and cant hear the dialing tone and my net goes off too.

      Stays off for about 45 minutes and then all comes back on.

      Does anyone know what the hell is causing this?

      Unplug all devices and plug a (preferably) corded phone into the test socket with no filter, just a phone:

      How to test your ADSL in the Master Socket

      Monitor whether the dialling tone drops again. If so, then it's a pstn issue and needs investigated by sky. If you have sky talk line rental, then you may be on SVBN, in which case you'll need to go through to their svbn team to log an intermittent fault via openreach. If you don't have sky talk line rental, then get onto your line provider (0800 800151 for BT faults dept).

      Thanks will try this out, also give Sky a ring tomorrow.

      I have only just been able to get back on line as my phone and net died again at 2:02 and only just come back up at 3.00.

      Coincidence, I'd say, but DLM usually forces a re-sync around that time in the morning. However, that should take a minute at most and the phone shouldn't be affected.
