      Angry Constant disconnections

Hey guys. Ive been with sky for the last 2 years now and had no real problems other than a router dying. But over the last 2 weeks for some reason or another my current router cant seem to hold a connection for more than 10 minutes. The connection will only be down for half a minute then reconnect for a short time then disconnect again. ive also noticed a slowdown in my connection speed, i used to manage around 5mb and now its down to around 3.5mb, and my ping has also risen from around 50ms to around 80ms. ive done all the usual stuff sky tell you to do, test socket, reset router etc. im trying to put off ringing them for aslong as possible as its a big pain so i was wondering what you guys think? any help will be really appreciated.

      Stats:
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 4094 kbps 605 kbps
Line Attenuation 45.0 db 23.7 db
Noise Margin 10.5 db 15.9 db

      Thankyou in Advance, Luke

Can you also post the stats when connected to the TEST socket?

How to test your ADSL in the Master Socket

Are you using wireless, if so, try a wire.

      Re: Constant disconnections

Have you recently been upgraded or moved to SVBN? If so, you are probably on DLM which is messing around with your line. If you have not it probably a straight forward line fault.

      Re: Constant disconnections

we changed our phoneline to sky think, but that was a few months ago. ive just rang sky and they said it could be a couple of things. they guy said to keep my line connected in the test socket and they were going to turn some software off at the exchange which was monitering my line, i guess thats what you mean by DLM? im guessing they knew exactly what teh probelm was because i didnt really need to tell them much/ said theyd me back in a couple of days to make sure everything was working ok. hoping it'll go back to normal now.
