It was this! Unchecked it and it's now working.

Not sure how it was changed between Saturday and Sunday, but it's all good now.

Thank you everyone for you help and suggestions.
      It is greatly appreciated.

It is not a bad thing to have the Access List enabled, it is an extra layer of security, as you have found. Just make sure all your wireless devices are included.

Re: "The wireless network security key is not correct"

After a day of it working, it has now reverted back to the 'hidden network' message.

I have tried to log on to the router to check the settings again, but the default login (admin/sky - which worked fine the other day) is now not being accepted.

Does anyone know how I can reset this and enter my router's config?
I suspect someone else is accessing it.

Hold down the reset button on the back for 10 seconds. Then change the password yourself and then set up you own access list to stop anyone else doing so.

If in doubt, turn off the wireless until you have changed the password.

If you do have the V1 router as your profile says then it sounds very much like someone has broken into it and set up there own settings. This is sadly quite common with the V1 router as the wireless key given by default is insecure and any "man and his dog" can generate it if they have just a limited knowhow. To avoid this occurance do the reset as smithy says and then change the wireless key to something completely different and also change the password for the routers interface.

It's the router that came with my Sky broadband.

      Can I reset that?

Yep. Object into the back of the router into the reset hole/button for around 10 seconds to factory reset.
