      Sky Emails on iPhone.

      Hi all,

I know there is loads of advice regarding setting up emails on the iPhone, s please don't think i'm a lazy sod looking to be spoon fed.

I want to really setup my emails so they are not dynamic. I want my phone to receive them but them still to be received on outlook when I get home.

Am I right in thinking IMAP will not retreive them on outlook if received on the iphone etc.

Also both my wife and I want to monitor the same inbox, is this possible?

      Thanks

If you retrieve them then they generally cant be retrieved again. You can check the e-mail settings for an option which will allow you to do that but I dont think there is one.

      ahhh, that's a shame.

My Blackberry Storm worked a treat as I could reveive and send emails from my account, but when I got home I could still download them all into my inbox (received not sent).

If they are dynamic I will lose track. I will have some on my iphone and some on my computer....

If you use the webmail at mail.tools.sky.com on your iphone then they will still be retrievable. As for doing it through IMAP/POP they tend to only be able to retrieve it once.

No, IMAP leaves the mail on the server so it can be retrieved on different machines. It is also possible to set it to download headers only so you can choose what you want to retrieve. It also has the advantage of being accessible by more than one machine at a time.

I would think you were using IMAP with your Blackberry, the iPhone should be no different.

      Thanks for your help.

I have managed to get them working. Well sort of.

I can't get my phone to automatically receive emails rather than when I go into the emails and hit refresh.

Is this something to do with push?
