    Broadband incredibly slow- please help!

      Broadband incredibly slow- please help!

      We have sky broadband in our house and it has been getting slower and slower over the past few months. I've recently done a statistics check on my router (sagem) and i'm getting these results:

      Line Attenuation 58.0 db 33.2 db
      Noise Margin 22.1 db 11.0 db

      365kbps?! why is that? i'm not sure what package we are on but we recently had a letter from sky saying our internet had been upgraded. i don't have the letter to hand but i think it said 20mb? i live with my girlfriend and her mum you see so the account is in her mums name. i also checked the plug sockets and we dont have an nte5, they are older sockets but there are filters on both.

      why is my internet so slow? even loading webpages is getting ridiculous now, and watching something on youtube is torture. if any of you guys could shed some light on the situation i'd be much obliged! thanks.

      Your connection is heavily capped. Phone Sky and tell them DLM has left your connection very slow, can they manually configure it. You may need the account holder to make the call then pass the phone to you if necessary.

      Filters on both? Have you moved the router at all or changed your setup? As Isitme says you are heavily capped which is normally triggered by an event of some sort (even a duff filter or sky tv box plugged in before a filter).
