      Connection Problems

Having a few issues with my Router. It's connected to my computer using the ethernet cable supplied, and was running fine at first. But this morning when I turned my computer on it wouldn't connect to the internet. I reset the router, turned it off and on, restarted my computer but still nothing, just kept saying there was no network connection.
I am using Windows 7, and have only had the router on for two days now since we were activated. Any advice?

Can you connect using the Ethernet cable?
If so try logging on to the router, and checking that it has an IP address on the ADSL port.

      Re: Connection Problems

Yeah it was the ethernet cable I was using before. I'm not at home just now so I'll try that when I get home. The laptop still connects wirelessly at least so if all else I can get on these forums using that

      Found the problem, Windows Update.

I've restored my computer to just before the update and I can connect fine, so turned off automatics until i can figure out how to deal with it

Check if Windows has 'updated' your adapter drivers. If it has roll the driver back to its previous state and mark the update not to be installed. This happened to me about a year ago, now I do not allow Windows to touch my drivers.

I went into Device Manager, Network Adapters and Properties but it won't let me Roll Back Drivers, button isn't highlighted.

      Re: Connection Problems

Did you check if the adapter was updated? Start>Allprogs>Windows update>View update history. If it has not been, you will have to look elsewhere for the problem.

The only update that happened on the day it stopped connecting was to Windows Defendor
