Exclamation on 20mb line lucky if i get 230 kb/s

This is incredible stupid in my opinon, im paying out for a 20mb line but getting 200kb/s surely somehting is wrong there. I have phoned sky and they insist nothing is wrong it's because i use it alot, i also don't understand that because sky don't throttle and i'm on unlimited, but yeah. Is there anyway I can get the speeds i'm paying for?

      Thankyou.

You do of course also realise it's an up to 20Mb speed and many things can impact the overall speed that your line can achieve? Most basic error that causes speed issues is setup so post your router stats as requested

and also tell us how your equipment is setup on the telephone line and what else (including Sky tv if it's there) is attached to your telephone line.

Re: on 20mb line lucky if i get 230 kb/s

As pointed out you are paying for an up to 20Mb connection with an unlimited download. The distance you are from the exchange means you will not get anywhere near 20 Mb. If you phone Sky and ask them to manually configure your line, you may squeeze another 1 Mb or so out of it.

With a sync speed of 2Mb/s you will get a download speed of 1.75-1.8megabits per second allowing for overheads. This equates to a data transfer rate of approximately 220-230 kilobytes per second.
