      Help! 248kbps

I'm looking for some help/advice please. I've called Sky numerous times and keep getting fobbed of with "it must be a problem with your computer" from people that I can barely understand. It doesn't matter what is connected though (PC, PS3 or Xbox 360 - they're all terrible) and I'm getting really sick of it. Router stats are:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 7712 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 35.0 db 21.0 db
Noise Margin 6.4 db 22.0 db

I'd really appreciate any insight on what is wrong with my connection and what can be done to fix it?

Broadband ISP: Sky Connect <---------- There's your problem!

Sky Connect is AWFUL, it's not even a "real" Sky product, just a rebadged BT product with heavy traffic shaping. If you have just signed up get out whilst you still can, you only have to start browsing these forums for the endless problems people have had with Sky Connect!

In honesty you can do nothing to fix it, the fact of the matter is Sky don't want to pay BT more than they have to for bandwidth and as a result the user suffers, when you signed upto Sky Connect there was a disclaimer saying that it is subject to heavy traffic management.

Ok, wow. Just wow. I rechecked now and it's at 6606kbps.

I'll have a look around and see what else is available around my area. Thanks for the heads up, much appreciated. This is unbelievable.
