      Sky BB new prices upgrade

We currently have Sky BB Unlimited @ 10 the per month, plus the Sky TV/HD, aswell as Sky Talk FreeTine and Skyline Rental.

Everything with Sky as overall it worked out cheaper for use with the phone/line rental over BT.

With the new price changes to Sky BB Unlimited where you sign upto a new 12 month contract for the new price.

I went to the Sky website to do this but couldnt find anythign apart from adding it as a package - i did notice when i added it out montly cost went down by 2.50 which is the reduction in the new Sky bb unlimited price.

But does it just upgrade and change price - automatically ie would we have downtime with the line.

Anyone else changed over to the new price.

We are just i bit confused as it had "add to basket" rather than say upgrade or change- as we are staying on the same pack just "renewing2 the Sky BB unlimited for 12 months.

Do it over the phone if you want to avoid confusion and get it done correctly.

Your doing it correctly, when I did it about 2 weeks ago I did the same as you and just added it to the basket and it worked fine. There was no line downtime as Sky just classes it as a "re-grade" which goes through instantly. Whether you do it online or over the phone your line will be subject to DLM again.

Re: Sky BB new prices upgrade

I was on Sky Broadband Unlimited package at 10 / month so phoned them tonight to change price to 7.50 / month.

Strangely they wanted my My Sky user name and password so that they could change it on line using my account, I'll change my password now (not that I don't trust them !!).

Changes went through OK for a new 12 month contract and as an unexpected bonus I get 10 a month off my Sky TV bill for the next 6 months.

Uhh, I don't know why sky would ask for your portal password. The only password sky will ask for is to your sky account for when you call in.

      The full story is:

The Indian gentleman started by asking me if I was online so that he could talk me through changing the Unlimited package on line to go from 10 to 7.50, I was not online at the time so he started to ask me to write down how to do it for when I was online. Then he said that he could do it for me but needed my user name and password which I gave him, he had difficulty doing the changes a couple of times so put me on hold while he asked a supervisor how to do it. After a minute he came back on the line and the change had gone through OK.

Either he did it another (proper ?) way or it worked in the end through my sign on.

I've already changed my password just in case.

Your never ever give out your passwords and login details to anybody and that includes companies like Sky. As you have changed it there will be no harm done.
