Sky did tell me that my old router could be creating errors so I should leave the new one until BT have raised my profile and then see what happens.

Just ran upstairs and plugged it in.

I'm on the Netgear router now.

So could you post the stats from the old router or did you just post them in the previous post?

Right ok in that case take the sagem out and leave the old one in. Theres something seriously wrong with it it's added 10.0dB onto your attenuation and more than halved your speed. You should then wait for the BT profile to update to the new speed which should hopefully get you up to around 5mb once that's done.

      Re: Sky and BT HELL!

So (fingers crossed) that works, but what about the next crackle on the line that BT won't recognize as a fault but they'll still cap my speeds back down to 135kbps?

The problem I'm having is nobody at Sky or BT seem to be able to fix my problems.

It can't be the distance to the exchange, my neighbour gets 4.5mb on his line according to the ADSL line checker but I get 512kb?!?!? He's one house further away.

Sky have acknowledged the poor router performance but they're trying to rule out the old router collecting errors that's dumping the profile.
