      Re: Speed estimate?

You still have a fair bit of noise margin to spare, so you should get 18/19Mb or thereabouts.

      Thanks again all.

So predictations so far range from 12mbps to near 20... I'm just hoping the more optimistic predictions come true

Checked at 8:00am today and the noise has dropped a bit to 13.9 with attenuation of 17.5. Noise seems to vary between 13-14.5 now.

Sync still 13305 kbps - I'm staying connected to the test socket for the duration of DLM.

MySky account says DLM commenced on 08/06/2010.

Hoping to see some progress by the time I get home...

      Re: Speed estimate?

So is there a general rule for what speeds you can get based on current stats ?

Is it "attenuation lower the better and noise margin higher the better" or somewhere in between ?

      Re: Speed estimate?

Lower the attenuation the faster theoretical speed you can get

Higher the noise margin the more speed you have available to you

      Re: Speed estimate?

      Hi,

      Update...

Router has now been on for nearly 5 days , with DLM (according to MySky) since 8th June.

Still no change in sync, which has been at 13307 since Tuesday morning

1.Is this a sign it's not likely to increase?
      2. If it stays like this after 10 days, I guess the advice is to phone and ask someone to manually change it ?

      Cheers all.

      Re: Speed estimate?

If it has only been running for 3-4 days there is still plenty of time for the speed to increase. Just make sure the router is kept plugged in.

Yes, if it does not change after the 10 days, you can phone Sky to have it done manually.

      Re: Speed estimate?

      Thanks again all,

      Update:

MySky now says "Line connection testing completed on 13/06/2010".

Previously, it said checking started on 08/06/2010

      1. Does this mean DLM is complete (after just 6 days?) and I should phone Sky now?
      2. If so, should a simply ask them to manually configure my profile, or is there a better way of phrasing this in order to get the right person to do something quickly?

I'm still at noise 13-14, attenuation at 17.5 and syncing at 13305

Thanks once again to everyone who's helped.

      Re: Speed estimate?

If the noise margin is still up in the teens, call Sky and ask them to manually configure your connection as DLM has left it a bit slow. If you get the wrong person in Tier 1 they may say you are getting as much as you can, if so, ask them to put you through to the Customer Solutions Team as you are quite sure you can get more.

      Re: Speed estimate?

      Cheers Tom.

Noise at the moment is 13.3. The lowest it's ever been was today (about 3 hours ago) at 12.9. Highest was on first day of DLM at 15.4.

I'll try and summon the energy to give them a ring tonight.

      Cheers !
