SLOW BB Unlimited...Radio Buffering & Bad gameing lag etc

Hi can u ps help me!! last few days browsing has become so so slow, even online radio is buffering. I am thinking this may be due to a few things. eg 1: someone has moved into house next door and maybe they have had phoneline reconnected (we share overhead BT cable) 2: We recently got rid of SKY movies, so maybe something/one has messed about with our connection??
All stats seem to be ok altough DL speed test only shows as 6MB (usually about 10MB) I have router next to master, i don't use w/less and have checked all my lines/filters etc? Also there seems to be a strange IP address on the below log (192.168.0.4) This is not part of anything on my local connections. All i have is 2 comtrend router switches / 1 ps3 and 1 Wi. Any help will be greatly appreciated as this seems to happen all the time to me and it can take ages which messes up my online Gaming.

      (Below is all the stats)

Re: SLOW BB Unlimited...Radio Buffering & Bad gameing lag etc

The dodgy address is the address of the machine you used to log into the router. Normally the router will give out an address of 192.168.0.2 to the first machine connected, then the last octet will ascend by one digit for each machine that is added.

Your stats look good and should give you a throughput of around 12mbps. Check that you have no P2P programs, including SkyPlayer, running and run Malwarebytes to check for trojans. -

Re: SLOW BB Unlimited...Radio Buffering & Bad gameing lag etc

The log shows the most recent event at the bottom therefore
that would lead me to believe 192.168.0.4 was the IP address of the
computer you used to login to the rsp.

Can you connect your router to the BT Test socket and run a few speed
test with a pc directly connected via the supplied Ethernet cable, and also repost your line
stats while in the Test socket, only the this part is needed

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 13981 kbps 765 kbps
Line Attenuation 36 db 18 db
Noise Margin 9 db 13 db

Although your stats look good on surface, using the test socket may help
rule out sources of interference that could create CRC errors.

Also what operating system do you have on the pc?

      Thanks Guys!

isityme: No i do not have any P2P progs and no SKY player. Done the malawarebytes prog FULL scan but nothing detected (also done antispyware and AV scan)

dsldude: Here is stats without any other attached and its on the master (w/out face plate attached) Plus the much better speed test, which is strange as stats seem same as before? Thanks

It could be a sign of the router developing a fault, which the resync has cured for the moment. Keep your eye on it and if it recurs, consider a replacement router.
You might also want to phone Sky and ask them to raise your upload speed. It is a bit low, you should get nearer 900kbps.

Guessing you only have 1 socket? considering your master socket and Test socket
stats are nearly the same, its hard to trace really if you could leave it in the test socket regardless for a few days anyway and see how it goes, if you do call sky it will help to do so if the router has been up for a while so they can determine if the amount of CRC errors is excessive

re the ping do a ping to jolt.co.uk and post the avg time.

      Thanks dsldude

Yes i do have only 1 socket (no ext and no other pc's)
Re: testing: I always leave my router on anyway.....do you mean, leave PC on as well as router? Also i have the prog 'router stats' installed. Would this be better for testing ps?

PS: Here is jolt ping with router NOT connected to master (looks same as past ping times to me though)

      PING 84.234.17.86 (84.234.17.86): 56 data bytes
      64 bytes from 84.234.17.86: icmp_seq=0 ttl=123 time=20.0 ms

      64 bytes from 84.234.17.86: icmp_seq=2 ttl=123 time=20.0 ms
      64 bytes from 84.234.17.86: icmp_seq=3 ttl=123 time=20.0 ms

      --- 84.234.17.86 ping statistics ---
4 packets transmitted, 4 packets received, 0% packet loss
      round-trip min/avg/max = 20.0/20.0/20.0 ms

EDIT: Ive just noticed something strange on my routers upnp settings. This was not there before!! (pic below) Would it be something to do with my 2 comtrend router switches ps?

Did you establish what machine was using the 192.168.0.4 address? The UPnP table shows the devices connected to the router which are using UPnP. It may be for a games connection or even a VPN connection. I doubt if it has anything to do with your switches as they do not use UPnP.

Your ping times look pretty good by the way.

Strange as i only have 1 PC in the house! If i go into my Norton Int Security security map, it shows 5 items (pc, 2 router switches, ps3 and dsi) but none have that address. Hence reason why i am concerned. I also did not put this setting in my routers page? Thanks

ps Router does not have wireless setting on.
