Sky Connect customers and ADSL2+ WBC question

Does anyone have a definitive answer to this one - BT upgrades exchange to ADSL2+ WBC, Sky Connect customer asks Sky if they are now going to put him onto the faster ADSL2+ connection now that BT have done the upgrade. Sky Tech and CS pretend they don't know what customer is talking about. This has actually happened to a friend of mine who was lucky enough to have their exchange upgrade in March. Do Sky put Connect customers onto the faster connection once BT have upgraded an exchange?

As I understand, the ISP has to lease ADSL2+WBC, so unless the ISP changes it's contract with BT Wholesale, then no-one on connect will get adls2+.

I've only heard of 1 ISP buy WBC so far.

No, the ISP has to instruct BT to do that and as far as I know they are not due to costs.

Even if they did, you would still be stuck with the limited capacity problems so no improvement in real terms.

Re: Sky Connect customers and ADSL2+ WBC question

Thanks for the heads up on that one everyone. I have given my friend a bell tonight and passed on the not so good news, oh b - - - - r was his reply. I have to say that I too was surprised by the info as although we are still waiting and waiting for our exchange to get an ADSL2+ date I was hoping that Sky would transfer my connection onto ADSL2+ when or if the upgrade ever takes place. However, as a couple of you pointed out, even if Sky did transfer customers it wouldn't improve things as they would also have to increase bandwidth to ease the evening speed issues, again something they're not prepared to do.

I feel somewhat sorry for Steve16751 as he as been hanging onto his Sky Connect contract in the hope that things will improve when BT upgrades his exchange to ADSL2+ WBC.

P.S. I have noticed that Plusnet upgrade you when ADSL2+ becomes available?

Upgrading the exchange wont do an awful lot because of the fact that its the package that is the bad point, not the exchange. The exchange is perfectly fine to be honest. If he wants better speed he would have to move onto a different package or ISP.

Good speed test again - note the time.

Now if I could get those sorts of results between 5pm and midnight!!!!!!
