      Problems joining Sky

I did a return to donor from Bulldog back to BT a week ago. I was previously getting anywhere from 15-21 meg as live close to the exchange, but the amount of downtime/length to fix issues decided to join Sky broadband instead.

Sky cannot provision me a service, saying there is 'possibly' a fault on the checker, was a tad vague? Bexhill does have LLU sky presence.

Also, I have contacted BT several times to say the BT ADSL checker is returning the wrong information. BT reiterate it is correct. But this is the exact same line, albeit I assume plugged in a different box at the exchange?

Anyone have any suggestions or can offer me any clarity. If you want a laugh, BT passed me round 3 departments yesterday, before the indian call centre advised, "change telephone exchanges", LOL

"Your exchange is ADSL enabled, and our initial test on your line indicates that your line should be able to have an ADSL broadband service that provides a fixed line speed up to 2Mbps.

Our initial test on your line indicates that your line may not support a reliable ADSL Max broadband service, with current technology. However, an order for 250Kbps broadband speed will still be accepted, but an engineer may need to visit who will, where possible, supply the service.

Our initial test on your line indicates that your line may not support a reliable ADSL2+ broadband service, with current technology. However, an order for 250Kbps broadband speed will still be accepted, but an engineer may need to visit who will, where possible, supply the service."

first things first it can take a few days for the tags on the line to be removed/moved to say that you are now with BT.

Normally I would expect it to be a week but I suppose it could take longer.

Until the tags are changed the checkers will see that you have a Bulldog line and will give an error.

Secondly the BT speed checker is woefully out of date, it was out of date years ago before BT started the 21CN upgrades to ADSL2+

My line still gives a speed estimate of 5 meg/sec and yet when I was with BT on ADSLmax I was getting 8meg/sec 5 years ago and on ADSL2+ I get 9-11 meg with Sky and O2.

The info you got from tags on the line checker - did it suggest there was a tag on your line?
