Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

      Thumbs down

      Sites I can not access...

      www.hotmail.com
      www.microsoft.com
      www.cnn.com
      www.msn.com
      www.xbox.com
      www.opendns.com
      www.thesuperficial.com
      www.imdb.com

Also, can not connect my Xbox360 to Xbox Live any more. The machine receives an IP and clears the DNS check, but fails at the MTU test. The help/info states MTU should be at least 1364 - the router appears set to 1500.

I suspect it isn't an MTU problem at all but related to the site access problem myself and others are experiencing. The MTU test relies on the XBox360 being able to access the Microsoft Xbox diagnostic server. Does that sound feasible?

Jdoki. I can open all the sites you list. Although this morning I could not access Hotmail. Both .co.uk and .com They were accessible this afternoon and both seem okay now. Hopefully someone else will answer your X Box points.

      My system:
      *Windows XP
      *AVG (free version)
*Windows firewall only. I have disabled ZA Pro as it causes problems
on one of my favorites: pogo.com when playing Bridge.
      *Sky MAX activated Wednesday 13/9
      *LAN connection only.

As Sky's range is rather large (1.05 million IPs - 90.192/12 for net anoraks), RIPE allocated us this range from a greenfield IP range which until now has never had anyone on it.

Consequently, IP carriers round the Internet filter out these ranges (bogon filters).. mainly to stop things like spam/DDoSes spoofed from these illegal IPs.

Now that this range is no longer "illegal", these ISPs need to update their bogon filters.

Most are pretty good at updating them, however theres always a few that fall through the cracks, hence situations like this.
For those who didn't have access to various sites, but now do - how long was it between activation/connection day and those sites becoming accessible?

Are the bogon filters being updated (or whatever needs to happen) in batches of IP addresses, or will mine potentially become active a set time after it was allocated by Sky?

The list of sites I have found inaccessible is growing, and I've been connected 2 days. My patience is wearing thin already and I'm seriously considering taking advantage of the 8 day cancellation period.

Whose responsibility was it to ensure these IP's were valid?

Two more sites to add to my list:
      morethan.com
      expedia.co.uk

That is annoying. I can access Gmail.com at the moment (one of the few sites I can )

Fingers crossed it stays like that for me, as Gmail is my main email 'client'.

Hope you get access back stevem

Can't access www.microsoft.com on Sky BB!

I went live this week on Sky BB and I can not access any Microsoft service at all. This includes:

      MSN Messenger
      www.microsoft.com
      www.msn.com
      XBox Live

      plus

      www.cnn.com

I have no firewalls and I've tried using 3 different PCs/laptops and an XBox with the same result. I can not telnet to www.microsoft.com on port 80 (an nslookup proves that DNS is resolving the IP). The support I have received from Sky is an absolute disgrace. Can anyone shed any light on this? Anyone else experiencing similar problems?
