Smile Cannot access certain sites

I had trouble with some web sites, turned out to be the bundled internet security/ anti-virus software that came with the sky package. Back on norton now and have just tried all the web links mentioned in this thread with no probs.

Hello There...And some additional sites!

Been connected since Friday

Speed is up and down (although settling now)

Sites I can't access:

www.lycos.com
www.mailcity.com (rather frustrating as my email account....)
www.real.com (need the real player!!)

V annoying - Just been through the 'technical support' script - Apparently he can't connect to Lycos either so its not Skys problem!!

ShadowUK... my IP begins with 90.193.xxx.xxx

However I CAN access:
imdb.com
flightcentre.co.uk
hsbc.co.uk
sigmachat.com
msn.com

I can not access the rest of the sites you listed; nor can I connect my XBox360 to Live.

My exchange is Newbury, and 3 other people I know in the area have exactly the same problem.

Your long list of sites above.....................!!!

Sorry if i missed some i am sure that i have.
What do we do ?
I have IP addresses starting 90.193...I say addresses as I keep having to release and re-establish.

ALL the addresses on your list work, but www.tvcables.co.uk as per LuckKnight's post above does NOT work, timeout.

What I REALLY do not understand is that some of the sites I have not been able to visit (all long standing ones I use frequently, including two I wrote myself!!) have come back A BIT AT A TIME, as over time, when I visited I could get a bit further.

www.freewebs.com/crashgearbox was a good example. For ages it was going to Timeout, no access at all, then eventually I could get to the Homepage, but nothing further.

Days later I was able to access some sub-pages.

Days later again (after intermittant tries), it suddenly accessed the last remaining "missing" page (which happens to have the most on it.....??)

NOW, ALL this time the site was up and perfectly accessible from NTL BB on another computer or Tiscali Dial Up on the SAME computer.............so forget "on computer" issues.............cannot be..............MUST be SKY.

But how the heck can it GRADUALLY give access!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
