      Re: Router

Quite bizarrely Sky actually just rang me up to see if everything was ok now after the visit of the openreach engineer yesterday, i told them i still had problems and they are sending me another router to try firstly, then if the problems still exist after the new router we will carry on from there

In that case I would bet a month of my BT pension against a night of unbridled lust with Dame Diana Rigg that the fault is at one end of the overhead, where the cable attatches.

You have completely chucked me, i cannot get Diana Rigg out of my mind now ...Do you mean you think the fault is where it attaches to the house, telegraph pole or the aerial at fault !!!!

      Re: Router

I mean where the telephone cable attaches, nothing to do with the aerial. Could be the telegraph pole end or your home end.

If I'm wrong, its Diana's loss!!

      Re: Router

Well after another router was delivered from sky (still made no difference to the problems), sky arranged another engineers visit this morning. The engineer arrived very early and listened to the noisy line and first thing he said was...LINE FAULT !!!! . Anyway he did a few tests up and down the telegraph pole then went off to the exchange and has now put us on a completely new line from the exchange to the telegraph pole, the line is now silent...infact the best it has ever been !!!!....Lets hope this is the end of my annoying faults i have had the last few months. Cheers for everybody's help it was very much appreciated...below is my latest stats....Regards Colin

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 11495 kbps 1150 kbps
Line Attenuation 34.0 db 17.3 db
Noise Margin 6.9 db 8.4 db

      Re: Router

I do remember saying in a PM to you that a pair pair swap might be a good idea. Anyway it looks like my night of passion with Diana Rigg has bit the dust: as it was not the overhead
