On that noise margin you should have 3-3.5mb sync. Did you try rebooting the router?

Re: Connection speed dropped by 1.0mb

Spent half an hour on the phone with the advanced tech support yesterday. Had me do a load of things Ive already done and the download speed maxed at 350 KBps.

Since then its dropped to 315 KBps.

      Heres my stats at present.

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 3072 kbps 608 kbps
Line Attenuation 56.0 db 31.5 db
Noise Margin 8.5 db 16.0 db

Think my line is still subject to DLM as it says on my Sky Account web page that its been under testing since 28th May!!

Other advice I have been given suggest that I contact sky and tell them to turn of the DLM on my line. Will this improve things?

Also, will the addition of an iplate to my master socket help?

If you have already disconnected the ring wire and/or you are using a filtered faceplate then an iplate will make no difference.

Re: Connection speed dropped by 1.0mb

Just connected to the test socket and got these stats.

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 3520 kbps 608 kbps
Line Attenuation 56.0 db 31.5 db
Noise Margin 7.2 db 16.0 db

Does it seem from the variance that I would benifit from a filtered face plate or Iplate, or is this simply a result of DLM?

Re: Connection speed dropped by 1.0mb

300-odd KB/sec is about right for that sync speed...and stat jump in test socket shows some noise issues on your facceplate. Get a filtered one and you should be fine

Re: Connection speed dropped by 1.0mb

Received a voicemail today from sky to tell me they have reconfigured my line and I now have these stats.

      Thu 22 Jul 2010 17:17:49 Noise Margin= 7.2 Sync Speed= 5236

Doubt this will last tho as I gather it shouldnt be possble to go that fast on my line. Hopefully they will have capped it as this would do quite nicely!!
