Whether it's 'good or bad' is subjective. You're getting 4mbps which certainly isn't slow at all, but you may be able to push out some more out of the line - depends if you're fussed, really. You may be signed up to the 20mbps unlimited package, but it is an up to 20mbps service - dependant on line length and quality from the telephone exchange.

Regarding your speed - it's not too bad for the distance from your exchange. If you're not happy with it, then plug into your test socket and re-take the stats.

4mb is easily good enough for gaming, it is more inportant to have a good stable connection than super fast speeds as games actually use very little bandwidth, much less then streaming videos etc.

If you have just joined which im guessing you have by looking at your downstream your download speed should increase over the next 10 days thats of course DLM doesn't freeze or you turn your router off. You should see similar speeds to me... 5mb or less depending on the quality of your line and the amount of Noise Margin you have to spare.

Looking at it your downstream is near it's top speed anyway - which can be seen from your 7.9dB downstream margin. When your connection speed goes up, the Margin goes down, and Sky set the Target Margin at 7dB normally once training finishes, this means a tiny bit more on the downstream.

Upstream has plenty of headroom, which is what is important for gaming. You should be getting around 1Mbit upstream when the training finishes which is plenty.

Once the 10 days have passed it might be worth calling sky, reporting a "High Ping" fault with Tier 1 and asking to speak to Customer Solutions. If you tell Customer Solutions that you are a gamer they can make changes to your line to make it more responsive for online gaming.

Speed isn't the most important factor for gaming - ping is - and Customer Solutions can configure your line with this in mind when you speak to them.

The only thing you may find takes a while with a 4Mbit or so downstream speed is updates. The PS3 does like to download pretty huge updates for it's system software from time to time but this should still only take a couple of minutes every few months.

Re: my speed connection is this good or bad

sky can reduce your max delays to lower your ping which is ideal for gaming, this can however result in a slight drop in speed. your upload speed definately needs to be increased! i would still post your router stats from your TEST SOCKET
