      wireless security

      hi my next door neighbour has now gotten sky broadband and it shows up on my open network settings. can I assume he cannot connect to me even though there is a default user name pass for sky routers can he use my connection and vice versa would it be advisable to change the default user name pass for the router

      any help in this matter would be a great help

      You would need his network key and he would need yours. Without the key (the 8 letters on your label) you cannot access the wireless.

      It is advisable to change the network key to a more secure one as soon as possible. If you have a Sagem with the latest firmware you should also change the encryption to WPA2, which is far more secure than the default WPA. Remember you are not restricted to 8 capital letters, you can use up to 63 of the characters on your keyboard, including all the abbreviated characters and punctuation marks.
