      Moving to G.DMT

How do I go about getting moved? Do I simply phone support and ask to be put on G.DMT or is there more to it than that?

nope, thats it.. call sky and ask them to change your line code to G.DMT

what are you router stats like at the moment? you can check and post back results with the link in my signature if you like is there a particular reason your looking to move from ADSL2+ to G.DMT?

      Down: 3069 Attn: 53db, SNR: 10db.
      Up: 796 Attn: 15.5db SNR: 12db.

I want to try G.DMT as I believe it would probably achieve better results with my line.

How do I find out if I'm on G.DMT or ADSL2+? I'm also curious about this

      Re: Moving to G.DMT

G.dmt trains in at multiples of 32, whereas adsl2plus usually trains in a few kbps lower than the configured speed. For example, the OP's stats are:

      Down: 3069 Attn: 53db, SNR: 10db.
      Up: 796 Attn: 15.5db SNR: 12db.

His line is actually configured to 3072/800, but adsl2plus trains in slightly lower than the configured bit rate.

I'd change the line code to g.dmt, uncap and probably end up with a sync speed of around 4096-5120kbps.

      Re: Moving to G.DMT

      Thanks for the advice User05.

As per my other thread, I've spoken to Sky this evening, and they've reset the DLM as I cocked it up by re-syncing so many times in the first few days. So I guess I'll have to wait until that has run its course before doing anything.

I'd certainly be chuffed to hit the kind of speeds you mention.

      Re: Moving to G.DMT

Meh, if DLM was finished then I personally would have just manually re-profiled the line instead of running another optimisation period. If you're lucky, you could ring back and have someone do just that.

      Re: Moving to G.DMT

I was still in DLM, but apparently my constant resyncs had cancelled it?

Could I not PM someone friendly on here to do it?

      Re: Moving to G.DMT

I'm sure someone could do it on the sly. I'm not in work until Saturday again, however.
