I am a new sky customer and have had sky connect broadband for 3 weeks now, when purchasing this package it was explained that the max possible speed would be upto 8 meg however using my postcode they estimate my speed to be approx upto 6 meg, I only ever use my internet between 17:00-00:00 mon-fri and weekends due to my working hours. Since having my service connected I have never been happy with the speed of this service and after several calls to the tech department and loads of checks and changes I have been informed that the best speed I can receive during the hours that I use my internet is between 400 - 600kbps, now I may not be a big internet surfer and i download little to nothing but this speed is in my opinion not worth £10 a month, whats more annoying is knowing that outside of these hours eg 06:00am I can hit just under 7 meg!!!! Now I know they said during peak periods the speed will be slower but 14 times slower is not a fair deal, and to make it worse when I mentioned about possibly cancelling the service they informed me that it wasnt 30 days as I was led to believe but it was past the 8 days!!!!! I was not happy, How can they restrict you to 8 days when they say to allow 10 days for your broadband speed to be set at its best speed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is there anything I can do???

Re: Slow Speeds
Hi as IWNTE say the connect package has issues the biggest one is the throttling during peak times from 5pm till Midnight,Weekends and all Holidays. There are Thousands of posts about the Connect package here`s a couple of links (Unofficial) FAQ - Sky Connect Users and Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down? There are also more threads about leaving in contract.
