      connection constantly dropping

      Hi everyone, at the end of my proverbial here. Last 3 weeks connection dropping intermittently but quickly became apparent that if you pick up the phone, the connection comes back. Still at this point after 3 weeks. Heres what I've done so far. In the test socket (have been for last 2 weeks), only one socket in the house, no extension leads. Modem and phone connected via new filter. Sky have on 3 occasions made adjustments at their end and connection come back and held for a few hours but then dropped again. Lots of noise on line but a line check shows no fault. I even bought a cheap fixed line phone instead of cordless to see if that made any difference.BT engineer coming on saturday but I really don't hold out any hope.
      Does anyone else know of this problem.

      Sounds like high resistance fault, BT OR should fix it.
