Sudden Loss of 2.5-3meg of Speed

Hello. I'll try and keep this short but informative lol. All has been well with the internet connection until yesterday, I haven't changed any wires or added anything like a new phone etc but since yesterday evening I've dropped from a steady 15.5meg to a very unsteady 12.5 - 13meg.
My upload speed hasn't changed though.
I've tried rebooting the router, changing the filters etc.

      My stats are :-

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 18014 kbps 1109 kbps
Line Attenuation 16.0 db 8.3 db
Noise Margin 6.9 db 8.9 db

      Speeds since yesterday:-

      28 April, 2010 19:20:01 13248 Kbps 924 Kbps
      27 April, 2010 21:47:33 12688 Kbps 909 Kbps

      Speeds before :-

      26 April, 2010 15:16:40 15304 Kbps 936 Kbps
      26 April, 2010 11:21:31 15528 Kbps 943 Kbps
      26 April, 2010 11:20:48 15504 Kbps 931 Kbps
      26 April, 2010 11:20:33 15488 Kbps 968 Kbps
      26 April, 2010 11:19:48 15488 Kbps 967 Kbps

Thanks for reading and any help will be greatly appreciated

No mate. Ethernet and high quality RJ11 cable to master socket.

tried changing the ethernet cable, and how long is the rj11? if it's an extended one use the Sky-supplied one

Re: Sudden Loss of 2.5-3meg of Speed

Thanks for your help but its fixed itself, somehow...

The router went offline for a few hours last night, the yellow internet light was on for ages, tried rebooting but it still stayed on yellow light. When I got up this morning its back on green light and speed is back to normal...... very strange

May not be "problem solved" so I'll keep an eye on it.

      Thanks again

      Mark O
