I don't know what DLM is. We've been with Sky since last year, I think. We upgraded to unlimited in February.

Your first link to a speedtester gave me 8240kbs! Can't complain.

Hi DLM What Is DLM? Everything you need to know. With your Line Attenuation 24 db you should be getting double 8240kbs easy It also looks like your Downstream Noise Margin 15 db could be capped should be around 7db which would give you about 17500kbps maybe more.

      *sigh*

I felt lag again today, even though I was up to 9mb/s again this morning, I'm now down to 1.8 again.

Should I try changing channels again?

Download Inssider from the link below, use it to discover the networks in your area and the channels they are using. Choose one as far from those in use as possible. You may have to do this at different times as some people only turn on their network when they are using it.

Inssider is showing that my channel (11) is empty, and there is a very faint signal at 13 that is about a 10th the size of mine. This shouldn't be draining me of 8mb, should it?

Thanks for the help so far. :|

If Ethernet gives you full speed then it is a wireless issue

I would not have thought so, but 13 does overlap with 11 and wireless is so fickle it might be. What like are channels 1 and 6, any activity on them?

      Re: Sudden drop in speed

Yeah, they have relatively low activity as well. I was on channel 6 before, and that has a higher activity (someone is on channel 6 as well), than the channel 11 I'm on now (with the low channel 13). I was always on Channel 6 - even when I was registering 9mb/s, and I know that my neighbour's network has been going just as long, and has never brought it down.

I just tested my connection by sticking the ethernet cable in and turning my wireless connectivity off. I'm still registering under 2mb. Is that concluded that it's not the wireless interference then?

What do you suggest the problem/solution is?

      Thanks again folks. :/

      Re: Sudden drop in speed

Okay, this is just getting weird now. It's early morning and I did a speed test:

My router is still only reading DownStream Connection Speed 9980 kbps

How can this be possible? I'm using wireless atm, though I think we've concluded that that isn't the problem.

      :S
