Not having had a call back from Tier 3 - apparently they have a call backlog (no surprise there) and are no longer telling people that they'll call back within 48 hours - called up the general line and got a helpful chap who did speak to them on my behalf.

Apparently the problem was that because I'm close to the exchange they'd set me up there for max but because my subscription is only for mid this was causing a mismatch and the line to drop - they've changed something (didn't say exactly what) and the line should now be stable.

Can't check it till friday when I'm next home and sober - two business dinners on the trot today/tomorrow. So I'll let you know then if the explanation / solution turns out to be correct.

Irritatatingly if it is correct they could/should have spotted this two weeks ago when their solution (again Tier 3) was to order me a replacment router - or rather not order me one and make me wait 4 days before re-ordering it.

Starting to see that the main problem they have is simply being overwhelmed by setting two many people up too soon without the resources to solve their problems in a timely fashion. If they're not careful and don't slow down the roll-out or staff up quickly they'll cause themselves some serious brand damage.

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.
