I have had Sky BB for a few years now and I recently upgraded from Mid to Unlimited Broadband. Does this upgrade automaticaly put me on a new 12 month contract or am I free to leave Sky, as Im thinking of moving everything to Virgin (telly,phone,bband) as it a tenner cheaper per month, free installation and free V+HD box, first 2 months free...My Sky equipment is old and needs replacing and I would need to shell out for this, which I cant really afford to do, Virgin will give me everything for free, same telly and phone and faster BB (I know its throttled),free equipment and installation and cheaper. Am I free to leave Sky guys, I dont want too but I must, I would need to replace my dish, all wiring and a new box if I was to stay with Sky. I have normal Sky equipment which was in my house when I bought it 10 years ago, so its seen better days (not sky+ or sky HD)......

My mother has just done the opposite and is now saving £25 per month by being with Sky? Sometimes you can go through retentions and get your equipment swapped out without problems, you could get your box swapped out for a HD one for installation fee only? They may even do a monthly reduction to keep you, won't know till you ask. Unless you have signed anything new recently then you should find that the upgrade has not incurred any new contract period aside from the 30 day one.
