      Unhappy Dropping connection

I am having issues with the wireless connection from the sky router dropping.

I have read a lot of other threads on the forums and have tried loads of possible solutions, but the issue still persists.

The actions i have tried so far is as follows:
      -turned off upnp
-turned off the wireless cards power saving device
-Hard wired by etherner to the computer - when done theres no issues
-moved the router to various different locations
-moved any other electrical appliances away from the router
-changed the channel, 1, 6 etc
-checked for interference from other routers - which there is none
      -turned off windows zero

Can anyone offer an other possible solutions?

Have you tried channel 13, this is often overlooked by people and tends to be less utilised.

Download a wifi finder programe and check if there is anything else around you transmitting, chances are ther are a few.

      Re: Dropping connection

Hi, I have changed to channel 13...but is still dropping connection.

I also downloaded a wifi finder, but my Internet is the only device putting out a signal - I live in the country side, so not many other sky users around...

Would it affect the situations that i have 3 computers with the exact same wireless usb adapters in?

      Re: Dropping connection

      Hi,
I have been in contact with Sky and they have sent a replacement router, however the same problem is still happening.

The wireless cards used are all the same, three of these are being used and all three computers have the same issue of the connection dropping?

Any other suggestions would be much appreciated!

      Re: Dropping connection

Not come across it on XP, Vista had an update that would cause this on certain chipsets. Maybe worth checking what updates have been installed & see if any relate to the wireless chipset?

      Re: Dropping connection

Hi, as far as im aware all the updates are in place. Im not sure if its a problem with the computers as the wireless connections drops on all 3 computers at the same time.... To me this seems a router or environmental issue, but cant see what could be causing the problem.
