      Sky broadband optic fibre

I registered for this about 2/3 weeks ago. I know that we will be "informed" when its available but out of curiousity, does anyone know when this will happen and if anyone currently has it?

I am based in the Berkshire area - anyone know when it maybe rolled out or available for a trial?

sure. its interesting though, i mean I would have thought they would first role out the LLU stuff before Fibre, or maybe they think they will forget the LLU required areas and go straight to Fibre optic....

Reading South is down near the University. There are 4 exchanges in Reading, put your phone number in the box and it will tell you which exchange you are on. SamKnows Broadband - Availability - Exchange Search

      Re: Sky broadband optic fibre

Is this going to be fibre to the building, or just to the cabinet? I mean we've had a noisly line on and off for many years yet BT still deny they can find a fault and keep telling me that our 'intermittent' fault is hard find (which is undestandable.) However I have months of records of everytime our line has been noisy and it's always when the wind and rain is from the South West. The broadband goes from 10Mb to 4Mb or less when this occures. Unfortunately BT can't come out immediately we get theproblem and thus a fault is never discovered. So.. say I manage (in 10 or years or whatever it is) to get a fibre optic line, how much of the broadband signal/speed would be lost traveling it's last few hundred years down an old, noisy worn out oxidised copper wire?
