      Internet Disconnects When Phone Is Answered

      I've been using Sky for a while now. After an email about going over my limit I decided to upgrade to unlimited. This switched over at the beginning of the month.

      Ever since then, the internet cuts out every time the phone rings, and once again when the phone is put down. Speed tests show that I'm getting 3Mbps (the exchange information says 2 Mb for ADSL and 6 Mb for DSL Max).

      Does anyone know why my phone is suddenly disconnecting me?

      Nothing changed in the house? This is common when something has been unfiltered. Other causes can be in the telephone exchange or a high resistance disconnection in the network.

      can you post your router stats(http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/view-routerstats.html) from the current location and your test socket(http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/view-master.html) please?

      the problem your having could be caused by a few things, a problem on the external line or exchange but the first thing to do is ensure the fault isnt with the setup of the broadband.

      do you connect your router to the master telephone socket in the house or an extension socket(or extension cable)?

      do you have an adsl filter on every socket in use in the house? if so also ensure the filter is the first thing connected into each socket.

      any noise at all on your phone line?

      The only thing that has changed is upgrading to Unlimited. At first I just thought it was "teething" issues (or something like that), but it shouldn't be going on for over 3 weeks.

      Any issues with your phone line? Crackle, hiss, hum? You need to eliminate your internal network and equipment before contacting sky and raising an LLU SFI

      The upgrade has probably caused you to be put on ADSL2+, which may not suit your line. Post your stats as requested from both locations.
